Recipe: Kenyan Dawa Cocktail

The word Dawa means "medicine" in Swahili and is said to be so potent that it will cure whichever ailment you have

Kenyan Dawa Cocktail
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon of sugar or 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
2 fluid ounces of premium vodka
About 1 to 2 crushed ice cubes
1 whole lime quarter (with the skin on)
1 dawa stick, twisted generously in honey (you can use a thick wooden cocktail stirrer)

Method:
1.  To begin, place the lime and sugar in a whisky glass.
2.  Slightly crush the limes, add the vodka and ice.
3.  Now, twist the dawa stick (or thick wooden cocktail stirrer) in some honey and add the stick to
     the drink.
4.  Using the dawa stick, mix the cocktail in the whisky glass.  The more you crush the limes in the
mixture and stir… the sweeter the taste of the dawa becomes.
5.  Lastly, enjoy!
